Acupuncture is based on TCM theories of the flow of energy & blood through a system of channels in the body. As it regulates and restores harmonious balance within the body, people often find that they have increased energy levels, better sleep and a sense of good health, as well as helping their specific problem.
Diseases are treated by needling specialized points on the body to activate energy to where it is deficient, and drains it from where there is an excess. Illness, on the other hand, is thought to occur because of too much, too little, or blocked qi. Inserting the fine needles into specific points, known as acupuncture points, on the meridians is believed to stimulate the body’s own healing responses and help restore its natural balance.
Acupuncture
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that has been practiced for thousands of years. It can be traced back as far as the Stone Age in China, when stone knives and pointed rocks were used to relieve pain and disease. TCM is comprised of acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine and qigong. Since gaining in popularity in the West, acupuncture is a treatment often used to treat a variety of heath related conditions.
Incorporating Acupuncture into another treatment by introducing only one or a few needles during the treatment can greatly increase relaxation of the client. A treatment combining Acupuncture with other modalities must be experienced to truly believe the benefits and total feeling of well-being. Treatments aim to improve overall well-being as well as the symptoms of certain conditions.
